News: Team Pictures - Schedule Uploaded
Posted by Bill Morris, Posted: 2 days ago

Coaches:

The schedule for Team Pictures has been uploaded and is included on your schedule for Saturday, January 6, 2018.

The pictures are our largest fundraiser, so we encourage everyone to participate!

Please double check to make sure your picture time showed up on your schedule and that there are no conflicts.

If there are any issues, we will have a makeup date on January 20 and can reschedule teams for slots that morning.

Attached is the order form for pictures that you can share with your parents.  Picture orders must be made at the time pictures are taken.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

News: IMPORTANT: South Loudoun Basketball Game Day Rules
Posted by Bob Schneider, Last Updated: 5 days ago

South Loudoun Basketball Game Day Rules

As we have begun our season at South Loudoun Basketball, we have had some issues on game days at gyms which have caused some issues we need to address. Since we are guests at these schools during practices and during game days, it is important we follow some basic rules so we can continue utilizing these gyms spaces for the remainder of our season. It is incumbent upon all Coaches AND Parents to make sure they themselves, their players, and siblings or guests they bring to the games follow these rules. Most of what will be outlined below is already found within our Codes of Conduct everyone has agreed to follow during signup.

These codes of conduct can be found by clicking here.

The following are reminders from the Code of Conduct of some basic rules we need to make sure are enforced:

  • No personal basketballs are to be taken to the Gyms on game day. The coaches are provided with a warm-up ball for their teams provided by the league. There is no reason for any parent, player, or sibling to bring a basketball to the games.
  • During transition times in a game (time outs, quarter changes, halftime) there will be no shooting on the court by anyone other than those involved in the games
  • Players and coaches not participating in games are considered a spectator and the Spectator Code of Conduct applies to them.
  • Coaches and designated assistants should wear their coach’s shirts so that the PRCS staff, referees and board members can recognize them to be permitted to sit on the bench.
  • No food or drinks are allowed (except water bottles for players) in the gyms. This is a long-standing rule of PRCS and LCPS. Please do not bring food or drinks within the gym, including in the stands. This includes parents and guests.
  • Unattended children are not permitted in the gyms. Our games are not a drop off event. There has to be a responsible adult parent or guardian responsible for supervising children within the gym at the games. The coaches should not be the responsible adult, unless the children are their guests. Coaches have to manage the players on their team and cannot keep track of unattended children, especially during the games. Unattended children may be asked to leave the gym by PRCS, Referees and/or SoLo Board Members
  • Please ensure any trash you create at the gyms are cleaned up when you leave. We have had several instances at practices and games where massive amounts of trash have been left behind. Again, we are guests at these facilities and our privileges can be revoked so please help us by cleaning up after yourselves.
  • This is very important – the PRCS person on site is the ultimate authority regarding the school facility, not just the gym space. They are responsible for the welfare and safety of all people at the facility, and have ultimate authority over what takes place in the facility. We cannot have parents, coaches, or guests challenging our PRCS staff on site. Please just listen to their directions and do what they say. PRCS employees have the right and the authority to remove anyone from the facility they feel needs to be removed in order for them to do their jobs on site. This includes calling in authorities to remove people who refuse to leave or are causing danger to others.

These are the basic rules of game day. As always and without saying, it is everyone’s responsibility to follow our Code of Conduct every time we interact with each other during the season.

Please follow these rules above so we can have fun and continue our season on a positive note!

Thank you.
